No visit to Fermont would be complete without visiting Labrador. The water-sharing line, the line that determines the border between Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador, is located just 10 kilometres from Fermont. The highway identified as the 389 becomes the 500 after this point.
The town of Labrador City is located 27 kilometres from Fermont, and the town of Wabush is located 8 kilometres further. These two communities have a total population of approximately 10 000 people. Like Schefferville, Gagnon and Fermont, these towns developed around the iron-ore mining operations put in place during the last half-century. Labrador offers activities that are complementary to those offered in Fermont.

it offers 18 trails of different difficulty levels, 4 lifts, a ski
